Panticosa is a small municipality in the province of Huesca in the Pyrennees, with a population of less than a thousand inhabitants. The town comes under the county of Alto Gállego, and its main activity and source of income is skiing. Here you will find the Ski Station of Panticosa Los Lagos. This small locality livs mainly from tourism, and the number of visitors usually exceeds the number of inhabitants. The economy is based on the service sector including hotels, apartments and houses for rent, restaurants and bars, and of course, the ski resort.
Panticosa is home to the Ski Station Panticosa- Los Lagos, located at an altitude of 1,184 metres, and about 90 kilometres away from Huesca.
The resort is busy both in winter and summer. Hotels, hostels, apartments, restaurants, bars etc all receive a good level of tourism all year round. A short distance away there is another ski resort, that of El Formigal called Sallent de Gállego in the Valley of Tena.
Another draw to Panticosa is its spa of natural thermal waters, found a few kilometres from the ski resort. |
